The game was the result of a week-long game jam between McMillen and Himsl to develop a The Legend of Zelda-inspired roguelike that allowed McMillen to showcase his feelings about both positive and negative aspects of religion that he had come to discover from conflicts between his Catholic and born again Christian family members while growing up. Players control Isaac or one of seven other unlockable characters through a procedurally generated dungeon in a roguelike manner, fashioned after those of The Legend of Zelda, defeating monsters in real-time combat while collecting items and power-ups to defeat bosses and eventually Isaac's mother. In the game, Isaac's mother receives a message from God demanding the life of her son as proof of her faith, and Isaac, fearing for his life, flees into the monster-filled basement of their home where he must fight to survive. The game's title and plot are inspired by the Biblical story of the Binding of Isaac.
It was released in 2011 for Microsoft Windows, then ported to OS X, and Linux.
Purgatory and Gello I could see the reasoning (though I think its moreso that both are a bit undertiered), Book of the dead isn't nearly as broken as it use to be (its still fine, though it requires far more rng to be good with the battery spawn rate nerf, it being a 6 room charge, and its bone orbitals being weaker), Guppy's eye I rarely take from a devil deal unless I basically have 2 parts guppy (which I pretty much never have, lol), and 2 spooky I also barely take ever because fear has quickly become my most hated status effect.The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike video game designed by independent developers Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl. Just because it isn't an easy HP Net anymore It was OP as hell before, but it lost the main reason people used it.
Spirit of the night isn't a damage up, yet I don't see you saying it should be a quality 2 item. You think maw is on par with the other 2 heart deals now that it’s not even a damage up? You're literally saying that a devil deal exclusive Item should go from 2 hearts to 1 heart, that's like saying ceremonial robes didn't get a nerf (and even then, that one is at least in the curse room and devil beggar pool)
